Our Christian Ethos and Values
In September 2016, through much discussion, our school community chose three core Christian Values that truly reflect our school at the current time.
Since then we have been exploring these values through Collective worship, reflection times and RE. We consider how the Bible and stories of Jesus teach us about life and how, with our developing understanding of Christianity we can use these teachings to formulate our own beliefs and moral compass to be positive role models in our society.
We are proud to report that we received an OUTSTANDING grade in a SIAMS Report following inspection in March 2018. Click the link below to see the full report:

As in the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10: 25-37). God's love calls us to serve others freely without expectation of reward. Love is an integral part of our school community. Each and every person is treated with Love. As a school community we believe that:
- Love is a feeling,
- Love is an action,
- Love is the words we use,
- Love is our thoughts,
- Love shines through in everything we do.
And we know that, just as the Bible tells us God is Love and that those who live in love live in God and God lives in them (1 John 4:16). The Bible is filled with teachings and stories of Love. Here are our recommendations:
- The Creation Story 'God loved the world, he saw it was good' (Genesis 1)
- Noah and the Flood (Genesis 5)
- Abraham and Sarah (Genesis 17)
- Solomon's baby (1 Kings 3)
- The birth of Jesus (Matthew 1)
- Feeding of the 5000 (Matthew 14)
- The crucifixion of Jesus (Matthew 27)
- Jesus heals the paralysed man (Mark 2)
- The Good Samaritan (Luke 10)
- The Lost sheep (Luke 15)
- The Prodigal Son (Luke 15)
- The Last Supper (Luke 22:7-38)
- The Easter story (Luke 24)
Courage is an integral value of our church school. Within the Bible God tells his people to "Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened, for the Lord , your God is with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9). At Kimpton we believe, no matter what the challenge, we have the resilience to achieve our endless potential. As a school community we believe that:
- Courage is being brave
- Courage is having the confidence to be yourself
- Courage is standing up for what you believe in
- Courage is choosing what is right
We show true courage and spirit in all that we do.
We know that, as the Bible tells us to "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you" (Deuteronomy 31:6) The Bible is filled with teachings and stories of Courage. Here are our recommendations:
- Moses in the bulrushes (Exodus 2)
- David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17)
- Nehemiah rebuilds the walls of Jericho (Nehemiah 2)
- Brave Esther (Esther)
- Daniel in the lion's Den (Daniel 6)
- Jonah and the Whale (Jonah 1)
- Ananias and Barnabas (Acts 5)
- Saul to Paul (Acts 9)
- Peter and the Jailer (Acts 12)
- Jesus in the wilderness (Matthew 4)
- Jesus calms the storm (Matthew 8:23)
- Jesus in the temple (Luke 2)
- Healing of the Lepers (Luke 7)
Respect is a core value for the church school as we follow Jesus' message to "treat others as you would want them to teach you" (Matthew 7:12) In our school this means valuing each other, celebrating difference and showing tolerance. As a school community we believe:
- Respect is to hear and be heard
- Respect is valuing each other's opinions
- Respect is to believe in yourself
- Respect is to include everyone
- Respect is showing care and compassion to self, others and the world around us
We know to believe that "all people are made in the image of God then each human life is precious" this was God's creation (Genesis 1). The Bible is filled with teachings of Respect. Here are our recommendations:
